August and early September saw much progress at the Forest Lodge Library New Building site.
In August, work was done to prepare the floor space of the building. After necessary materials were set down to prepare for the concrete, and weather cleared up to cooperate, concrete was poured for the floor of the new building.

In early September, the walls of the building started to go up. The exterior walls went up first, framing the outside of the building. After the outside frame was in place,
interior walls were able to be set as well. Many patrons and community members have expressed excitement to see the new building take shape and come together.

At the September Forest Lodge Library Board of Trustees meeting, the new building progress was discussed and information was shared about what to expect in the coming weeks.
As the crew finishes up this step in the building process of putting up exterior and interior walls, there may be a break in activity on site as we await the trusses to come in at the end of the month.
Trusses are set to arrive at the end of September.

The Forest Lodge Library Board also approved to move forward with FEH Design in assisting with interior set up, furniture, and design needs. Our Interior Design Committee will be meeting again with the representative from FEH Design to discuss next steps and get working on our interior needs. Director Westlund had presented information from different design firms for the board to choose from. It was discussed that as we move forward with interior design, we would like to keep the cozy, Northwoods feel as much as possible. After the committee has had a chance to meet and work with FEH Design, these recommendations will then go to the Forest Lodge Library for final approval.
